Macaroon Tasting

One of the things I wanted for the wedding was a sweets table...with all of the good stuff. And the good stuff includes macaroons. I've had them plenty of times but Chris' only macaroon had been a rose flavor and that didn't go so well. I had to redeem the macaroon...they're just too good and so I insisted we have a macaroon tasting. I believed it was necessary and  bought every flavor they had that day except for rose...I can't do that one either. We had agreed that strawberry was going to be a must flavor for the wedding and decided that we would also add our other two favorites from the tasting.  My favorite ended up being pistachio and Chris' was the signature chocolate flavor. Yum  :)

Peanut Butter Cup Nutella Cakes

Remember how I mentioned that my sis had made this amazing cake for my bridal shower? Well, this is it! Just slightly modified :) She actually frosted the cake and used this glorious nutella + peanut butter cup deliciousness as a filling only. I'm using it to top the cake as well. I ended up making these in mini cake form just for the fact that I've been wanting to try it out for sometime and I wanted to have a whole cake for myself! j/k. But seriously, things are just more cute in mini form right? If you love chocolate, this is your cake. Your welcome :)
What you need to make: Chocolate cake mix, nutella, reese's peanut butter cups
Bake cake in a can to make mini cakes
Cut your mini cake into four slices
Spread nutella on cake
Cut peanut butter cups into fours and add on top of nutella
Add a cute topper or double up and make a 2 layer mini cake
enjoy! this tastes so good!

Newbie

Tee: Thrifted Target, Skirt: Langford Market, Wedges: Nine West, Clutch: Jenny Packham, Belt: Diamente Designs
Every time I get paid, I try to buy something for myself. Most of my check goes towards the wedding and while it's been challenging, buying myself at least one thing keeps me sane. These wedges are my new purchase and they are pretty much my new favorite thing as well. I love the color block and the combination of colors. They have this simplicity to them yet they are the standout piece to my outfit...i love them. Have you gone shopping lately? What's your new favorite thing in your closet?

One of Those Things

Dress (worn as a top): Target, Skirt: Langford Market, Heels: Image, Purse: Marshalls
So this is the skirt that I just couldn't leave the store without when we went to Austin in January. It was one of those things that you knew if you left the store without it, you would regret it later. One of those things that when you went back home you would have thought..."gosh, this blouse would have looked really good with that skirt I didn't buy", so naturally I had to get it. I fell really hard for the double layer and mixture of textures...oh isn't it just the prettiest? I've been patiently waiting to wear it for a warm day. When that day finally came, me and Chris went out for lunch and a movie date <3

DIY // Gold Alphabet Magnets

Now that me and Chris will be moving in together soon, I've been thinking a lot about what we kind of things I would want in our place. I've always loved alphabet magnets and the idea of leaving a message on the refrigerator. I'm also kinda obsessed with gold, so spray painting these magnets gold seemed like the only right thing to do. Quick and easy...gotta love it.
Supplies: Alphabet Magnets & Spray Paint
I had thought light pink would be cute too but my can was messed up :(
Spray paint the letters...let dry and add a second coat.
If you want to be a bit more creative, try adding designs with a sharpie.
cute! Have fun mixing these up and leaving messages on the fridge.

For a Day of Love

Tee: Target, Dress: Target, Wedges: Thrifted Shoedazzle, Clutch: Jenny Packham Pin: Made by me :)
I hope you all had a beautiful valentine's day! Chris and I stayed in this year so I wanted to be comfortable yet dressed up...a pretty pink dress and casual tee does the trick. I love love love this dress that I'm going back to buy it in grey. Chris ended up surprising me with candy, flowers, card, and lunch during the day and we relaxed with a few drinks and good music later that night. It was wonderful.

Bridal Shower Celebrations

Hey everyone, I know I had mentioned that my bridal shower was coming up. This past Saturday, my bridal party threw me the most beautiful shower. I actually forgot my camera and didn't get many photos of the party which I'm pretty bummed about :/ Oh my sister made this cake for the party...it was beyond amazing and I can't wait to share with you all about it next week.

DIY // Collage Heart Dish

I have a bad habit of taking my accessories off anywhere, the car, the desk, the bedside table, my purse...you name it. I've been known to lose jewelry quite often. I have this jewelry display I use at home but I decided I needed a "place" for my things at Chris' house. I used to love making collages from magazines and wanted to apply that look to the jewelry dish. At first I was going to go with a few images from my pinterest but with Valentine's Day around the corner, I thought a collage based around love would be fun.
Supplies: Heart Ceramic, Glitter, Brush, Scissors, Triple Thick Glaze, Glue, & Images
Start by spreading glue to ceramic, sprinkle with glitter, and shake off.
While the glitter dries, cut up images into shapes or add writing to personalize.
Think of the collage layout you want, glue down to dried glitter, and then spread triple thick glaze.
 Let dry and you're done!

**easy alternative to simplify this diy**
Trace heart onto cardstock. Then build your collage onto the cardstock. Glue the cardstock down to the dish and cover with triple thick glaze.

Outfit Possibilities // Valentine's Day

Last year I went with an untraditional outfit for valentines day. I wore blue. But I did add a red sequin heart so that makes it valentines day worthy right? I'm that girl that likes to dress up so when holiday dates come up, I get really excited. I'm not sure how we are celebrating this year but I've already been thinking of outfit possibilities for staying in or going out.
Outfit details here
Keep it classic in traditional valentines day colors for a night out. I seriously am head over heels in love with these heels...they are gorgeous! I love all the girly details in this outfit like the bow earrings and soft pink clutch.

This outfit is super casual but has fun accessories. You can't go wrong with Paris...I mean after all isn't it the city of love? Add a mix of ultra girly pins and sparkly shoes to dress up a good old tee and jeans and you're good to go.

What does your Valentine's Day outfit look like so far? Are you going out or staying in?

Sparkler for the Bachelorette Party

Dress: Rue 21, Headband: Ban.do, Heels: Steve Madden
For my bachelorette party, I decided to not wear white but instead wear something to really make me stand out. A full on sequin dress does the trick, right? Oh and I got it on clearance for only five bucks! It was a total steal if you ask me. I don't have any pics of the night but I'm hoping to get some from a few of the girls I was with. It had been awhile since I'd been out with the girls for a good night of dancing and drinking and I had an absolute blast. They took me to a piano bar that played all the hits like Timber, Jessie's Girl, I'm Sexy and I Know It, oh and they even pulled out Bye Bye Bye from N'sync! It doesn't get much better than that! Then we ended the night at a strip club...oh good times there.
